Day 3: Ibirapuera Park, Sao Paulo

Home Biota: what is it? Animals Plants Mammals Birds Insects NL EN

Obviously we can't go to the customer today, so I'm going out. São Paulo is not very safe, but I think my old backpack can do it. So I walk to Ibirapuera Park, a large city park with lots of birds, people and security. In any case, it is safe in the park. I don't see any rare birds, but some unknown species to me.

This white-cheeked whistling duck was captured up close. The advantage of birding in a park is that the birds are used to people and are easy to approach. Then you can still take beautiful photos with a normal lens.

The photo shows a White-faced whistling duck (Dendrocygna viduata). It is a bird in the order Anseriformes and the family Anatidae. The photo was taken at Ibirapuera Park (Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil) at 20:42 on Friday October 24, 2014.
